Fire Safety Activity Report: July and August

In terms of our activity this month (July), we expect to carry out 60-70 Fire Risk Assessments both locally and throughout the North of England. Our trainer has travelled to Bradford, Kendal, Blackpool and Carlisle to deliver Fire Awareness and Marshall training within Residential Care Homes, Factories, Surgeries, Shops, Schools and Offices. All our training includes the practical use of fire extinguishers on live fires. Our trainer also provides Fire Awareness and Fire Marshall Training on behalf of a number of major fire safety and H&S suppliers in Cumbria and the North West, delivering, on average, 8 courses per month.

Looking into August, Callum has been chosen to review the fire safety measures within the property portfolio of one of our Northern Police Constabularies, and will be delivering practical training to staff at a major vehicle component supplier in Warrington. Alongside this, we will be carrying out Fire Risk Assessments throughout Cumbria and the North across all business sectors.

Towards the end of each month, we visit a number of properties in Cumbria during which we test the installed fire precautions, inspect means of escape from those buildings and provide a report for the Responsible Person highlighting areas of non compliance with the Fire Safety Order.

On top of this there is a significant redevelopment starting at Carlisle for which we will be compiling the Preliminary Fire Risk Assessment to assist the owners and Architects in complying with the Building Regulations and Fire Safety Order.

We see this as an additional benefit to BPW Fire Safety in that our clients should be reassured that they are employing knowledgeable, competent and qualified Fire Risk Assessors to assist them in their compliance needs.
